Eventually time runs out, and we had the whole of Wyoming between us and our airport for the flight home. So we took a couple of days to drive the ten hours or so.
First a couple of photos from Red Lodge, which made a good base for us.
We returned over the Beartooth Highway and stopped for a short walk among the wildflowers.
We then took the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway which took us south through Wyoming, east of Yellowstone.
The drive inlcuded lots of desolate flat country
But the Wind River Canyon was worth a stop or two to stretch the legs.
We spent a night in Lander and had a brief walk in the Sinks Canyon state park before finishing our trip back to Salt Lake City and our flight.
